I'm not sure what kind of "contribution" he made for Egypt..... Egypt is one of the poorest countries in the world, one of the most extreme (leader of 9-11 attack was Egyption and lots of Egyptions support Al Qaeda and "Muslim Brotherhood") and very corrupted country.In addition - even in the war battlefield, he was a failiure and disaster!! Israel as a tiny country, managed to take from Egypt all of Sinai!So in every possible aspect - military, economy, social - he was a failiure

@obaa101 He wasn´t killed, he died of cardiac complications. Read history and excelllent "The Documents of Cairo" from Mohammed Hassanein Heikal, former editor of Al Ahram and friend of Nasser. Book begins with Nasser's death. If he was a tyrant, at least he was not a long one. I wonder if it is better to to evil as an act of freedom or to do good by following other people counsels. Freedom is good if it is a real one.

The sin of dictatorship is greater than all the good any leader can do. Think of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, BouMedien, Saddam, Assad.If a leader confiscates freedom of speech, he is an enemy of the people, no matter how good he appears to be. Nasser, Saddam, Qaddafi, the Assads were dictators, who transformed the Arab masses into slaves in constant fear of the Mukhabarat.
